The box was bigger than we expected as what we had in mind was in direct correlation to the dimensions of the machine. However, when we opened the box, we found a pixie espresso maker along with the welcome pack of 16 Nespresso capsules of different aromas. There was also an instruction booklet and an information folder.

The coffee capsules can be easily inserted and ejected in this machine, thus saving you more time. The best part? We didn’t have to remove the used capsule right away, this machine can store up to 10 used coffee capsules at a time.

Quick Preheating – Preheating is an important factor to make your coffee taste good. If the temperature of the water is not high enough, the coffee brewed will not be strong and you definitely will not have your kick of caffeine. Imagine if you have to wait a long time for your machine to preheat or worse if you have to preheat the water and pour only warm water into your machine? We can assure you, that you won’t be brewing your own coffee much longer. However, we had to wait only 30 seconds for the Pixie Espresso Maker to preheat.

Automatic – We were thrilled with the automatic power off feature, which enables us to switch on the coffee machine and go ahead with our other chores and come back to freshly brewed coffee when you want a break. We didn’t have to wait around to switch off the machine once the pilot light went off.

Programmable – not all of us want an espresso all the time. There are times when you need a different coffee. This machine allows you to choose between an espresso and a lungo with just the touch of a button. You can pop in your capsule and choose which type of coffee you want and the machine makes it for you. Since it is pre-programmed, you don’t have to go through the hassle of finding out how much water to use for each type of coffee. You can also re-programme the custom volumes so that the machine can give you your required amount of coffee every day. A bigger fan of the espresso than lungo? Programme your machine to give you more espresso than lungo.

Cup Of Your Choice – You don’t have to hunt for the right size of coffee cup anymore or stack up a particular size of a cup at easy reach, in order to get your coffee. The drip tray can be folded to create more space for a larger cup. It can even accommodate a big recipe cup. Now you can just grab the cup nearest to you and get your coffee without further ado.

Water tank Capacity – The machine has good water tank capacity. You can pour up to 0.7 liters of water and since the machine is pre-programmed for the water volume for each type of coffee, the machine will automatically take the required amount of water and will switch off.

Pressure Pump – The high-pressure pump enables you to have a barista style coffee every time. When preheated water pumped out at the right pressure, it unlocks the smell and flavor of the coffee.

Backlit – The water tank is backlit, thus enabling you to see how much water you are pouring into the tank. If the tank goes empty, red backlights light up to alert you to refill the water tank.

Saves Power – When the machine is done brewing, it automatically turns off for the next nine minutes, after which it preheats again and pumps more water into the pot. If you are like us, who loves their coffee hot and can’t stop with just a single cup, this machine gives you hot coffee almost every 10 minutes. Just remember to fill in the water levels accordingly.

To our surprise, the package contained a small box of 16 capsules of different aromas. All we had to do was, plug in the coffee maker and pop in the capsules and we were rewarded with different coffee aromas, one after the other. The room was filled with the delicious smell of freshly brewed coffee.

High-Quality Coffee – The coffee we tasted was definitely of high quality. Thanks to the Nespresso capsule system where high-quality coffee is hermetically sealed in recyclable aluminum capsules. Become a member of the Nespresso club and you will be offered a capsule recycling service, provided you are in the United States.

Becoming a member was very useful to us as we were given personalized advice and good technical support when we had a few doubts about the machine.

We were very happy with the product as it gave us freshly brewed coffee without taking much space on our countertop. If you have a space constraint or would like to place your coffee maker at a more accessible space than in a corner of your kitchen, this coffee maker will be the perfect choice for you. Get a measurement of the place where you plan to keep your coffee maker and compare that size with the machine. You will notice that the machine is true to its name and hardly occupies much space than the regular coffee makers.
